I was admitted for Tisch drama, and I was wondering If our studio assignments and scholarship information are included in our acceptance packets or if they are sent out later. Has anyone who lives in NYC received their packet and could they help? Thank you so much.

In all past years, the studio assignments were NOT in the acceptance package from NYU. They come separately a week later in a letter from Tisch (first week of April). My recollection is that the financial aid letter, including scholarships was in a separate mailing.

Last year the financial aid letter was included in the big purple acceptance packet folder.

Got the package yesterday. FA/scholarship info (or should I say lack of?!!) was inside. No studio assignment letter.

Argghhhh. Cannot… wait… much… longer… want… to… know! Good to know not to rip it open to try and find my studio assignment, though. Although financial aid is very important!

This is a little strange, but I still have not received my acceptance packet. I am surprised because I was already admitted, and I went to NYU this weekend as an MLK scholar. They said they sent out packets on Friday, but I have not received mine. I already got the mail for today. I guess it could come tomorrow. Has anyone else received theirs?

PS. I live in PA, about 2.5 hours away from NYC.

Received package Sat 3/27 on LI.

Okay… Are packets coming regular mail, or USPS, or what? I know I got in, but I really want my financial aid package.

Regular mail for me. Got mine 3/29 in Texas… so that’s weird! Maybe it’s because you’re an MLK scholar so it’s taking longer since you’re actually getting some moneyyy.

regular mail. (USPS is mail; did you mean UPS?)

Yes, I did mean UPS. Sorry! And I guess it could have something to do with MLK. It is just strange that everyone else is receiving their packets from far away, and I still have not received anything… I really cannot afford NYU without a LOT of financial aid, so maybe I am just in a panic.

My daughter received the big envelope - on Monday
but no info on financial aid. Info said it is ‘to follow’

We live in Portland OR.

My D got her big purple packet on Monday with her financial aid packet enclosed. We live in Davis CA.

Part of her financial aid was a Tisch scholarship. Does anyone know if this is merit or need based. From what I have read almost all of NYU’s financial aid is need based but there was some reference to merit based scholarships coming from Tisch.

I got my packet, and didn’t know about which studio so I called. They said to assume it’s your first choice.

The Tisch scholarship is need based, I believe. My D has a Tisch scholarship and it is counted as part of our financial aid award. No doubt the Tisch scholarship you guys got is for all four years (provided your student stays in good standing), but it’s worth checking to make sure as you plan ahead.

Has anyone from PA or a nearby region received their letter? I have started freaking out slightly. And it seems that everyone else has received their letters on Monday, and it is Wednesday, and I have yet to hear anything.

Did you give your name when you called and did they ask you to hold as they looked it up? Otherwise, I would not want others to assume they got their first choice studio as many do not. However, if you gave your name and they looked it up, they may have been giving you an INDIVIDUAL response that is not applicable to ALL. Just think that needs some clarification.
