Why do you have the need to judge the relative worth of various academic fields? And why should there be a ranking at all? And what exactly are these "useless subjects"?

californians tend to be more indifividualistic and anti-establishment. This is nothing concrete but its proven by state politics and anecdotally.

Hahahaha. Oh that's rich. Visit Orange County, then come talk. There are many individualistic and anti-establishment people in CA, but trust me, if you think they're somehow an overwhelming majority, you haven't seen enough of California.

Further, proving something through politics and anecdotes isn't exactly proving something.

I suppose if my grown child spent all day on a college internet forum, year after year, bad-mouthing his circumstances and all the people he's ever come in contact with in a particular state instead of getting out there in the world and doing something positive and healthy, I would have to agree.

The same trend applies; californians tend to be more indifividualistic and anti-establishment. This is nothing concrete but its proven by state politics and anecdotally.

And for that matter, don't go to NYC, Europe, Japan, Singapore, or Hong Kong - you'll hate them just the same.

In general, you can't really expect people to respect social mores and be as friendly as you would in the south.

Unless you are a minority. Then they just stone you to death.

But bad jokes aside, which law schools did you get into? (I'm curious because you scored really high on the LSAT.) If you don't want to share here, can I pm you?

He's going to Columbia but was "unimpressed" with his acceptance results. (He didn't get into HYS Law is what I'm guessing.)

WOW! Is all I can say. Columbia is my dream school. UGH. Seriously, it's my dream school. I mean, c'mon, it's ranked what, 4 in the nation? And it's also in NY. Yeah, I'm jealous.

Yup, it must all be Berkeley's fault. What a horrible institution.

i chose cal over columbia

^I'm pretty sure she meant Columbia Law School, which is 4th in the nation...

If it matters, I chose Cal over Columbia too.. but I'm talking about undergrad... and engineering.. So it was a no-brainer!

ah, i see. my bad
