Does it feel like there is a lack of diversity because most people are from the same state? Is it hard to connect?
My niece went to UVA from Illinois, and that wasn’t an issue at all for her.
There are more OOS students at UVA than UNC-CH as a percentage basis: UVA admits up to 33% OOS freshman, whereas UNC-CH is limited to 18% OOS first-year students. UNC-CH has a slightly larger undergraduate population, which offsets the percentage caps somewhat.
My daughter is OOS at UNC-CH; it’s also not an issue for her. (And it’s not really an “us vs. them” situation, anyway.)
