yepp, so i signed up for my gasp first college class during summer!! yay!! (calc 2)
i know many of u guys have experiences with college courses...so what were they like? how was the professor?

School didn’t offer a certain class (Macro) so a local university let me take it over the fall semester, which meant I got to leave my normally closed campus everyday to go to the class. Wasn’t a big deal at all. Class was in fact easier than my ap’s (due to the fact there was 0 busywork, 3 tests and a final was all). Nobody even knew me and my friend were HS students until my professor made a remark about both of us beating the entire class grade wise lol. Everyone was like ***? there are high school kids here. Solid fun.

^lol great=]
it was easier than an AP class? whoaa!
my fav part is how people didn’t know u were in high school

I’m taking my first college class in the fall. I know quite a few kids who have done language classes, but they never talked about it much and I never bothered to ask. I sort of wish I had now. Le sigh.

I did Diff Eq’s last spring. I’m not sure what grade I got yet. One thing about these classes is that a couple mistakes on one test can really damage your grade - much more so than any one assignment in HS. On the plus side, the hw load is much reduced (though you might actually need to study separately).

Oh and nobody knew I was in HS either.

Taking classes at my college is way, way easier than taking AP courses. It was until recently a community college. Since it’s mostly adjunct professors (some without even a bachelor’s degree) and the students who go there got rejected at four year universities, it is SO easy. I’m taking Freshman Composition and Introductory College Level Physics I. Physics will be difficult, though, just because I’m really bad at both math and science. But at least it’s algebra-based.

it is awkward,
and the students are really dumb

It’s okay. No one really cares, but then again, I go to a community college, so everyone is pretty chill.

Some classes are easier than others; generally depends on the teacher.

Nobody realizes you’re a highschooler. Because honestly, if you were in college, would you be so quick to realize/care if one of your classmates was in high school? I took all my classes at the local state university last year, and not one person questioned my age (I was/still am 16, and look really young)

^ I’M 16 too!! =]]

16 here also.

College classes are usually easier than the AP equivalent. Although I don’t stand out in my current college classes anymore, I can’t say the same for my first one (age 12 lol).

Well at least not before grades are released

lol@ the tag “datacube boasts again”

^ lol. but its not just him. there are quite a few around here if ya know what i mean. ;]

I look pretty young (i’m 17m) and no one thought I was in high school.
Its just kind of awkward in my opinion, it feels a lot different than high school

It’s cool to boast.

This is teh CC.

when i was a little freshman in high school people thought i was a senior
actually, throughout my 3 years so far of high school, people have always thought i was a senior

There was a senior at my HS when I was in 9th grade that had a full beard, a ponytail, and was about 6’3". He looked like a stereotypical grad student. And he had looked that way since 10th grade.

now next year i will actually be a SEN1OR!!
