What's Johns Hopkins Really Like?

Just wondering what some inside opinions are about like at Johns Hopkins. Is there a lot of pressure? Is there a good campus feel? As far as school spirit goes, I know they the lacrosse teams are very good but overall, what is it really like?

hey, I can’t speak for everyone, but personally I love it here. Yes, the classes are hard but the only pressure is the pressure you put on yourself. I have yet to meet anyone who is cut throat, but rather see people working and studying together all the time. If you go here, you’ll spend a substantial amount of time doing homework, readings, and studying, but since this is a top university, you should be prepared for that anyway. As big as academics will be a part of your time at Hopkins, it will only be your entire life at Hopkins if you let it. There are plenty of clubs and organizations to join as well as tons of things to do on weekends. School spirit isn’t the best, but I believe it’s getting better. The best way to really get the feel is to actually visit the campus. Just stop a random student and ask them how they feel about Hopkins- most of the students here are really nice so I’m sure they’d be happy to answer any questions you have.
