WHAT'S LAC? I know that it's probably something that everyone knows in the US. but i'm not from or anywhere even remotely close to the US so excuse my ignorance.
THANKS!

It's not something that everyone knows in the US :) Its an acronym for Liberal Arts College (like Amherst, Williams, Swarthmore). I've only seen it used here on CC, but its probably used all over the Web since its hard to type out LAC every time.

So these universities does these universities have other majors too like computer science?

LACs are not universities. They are colleges with mostly Arts and Sciences programs. If there is computer science, it will be indicated in the academic description on the colleges' web sites. The definition of a University is that it is made up of several colleges. So a Liberal Arts College is exactly that-- a college of liberal arts which would include sciences. Confusing...

A Liberal Arts college is a college that is mainly or entirley undergradute, with few (and small) or no gradute programs. LACs often do not have "pre-professional" majors/programs such as business, engeneering, nursing, etc. Some do have comp sci. They also tend to have small student bodies (generally ranging from 1,000-3,000, though there are smaller ones and maybe a few bigger ones).

They normally award BAs. They are basically like the arts+scinces parts of Unis with none of the other stuff. Many say they are more undergrad focused for that reason, and many prefer them to unis for this and other reasons (and visa-versa).
