I started my college list and narrowed it down to 9 so I’m thinking of applying to this one not only is it in southern cali but its by the beach(I think or some water)…I live in the bay area so I probably can’t visit soon. Are there a lot of people from norcal going there is no what’s like compared to home. And is the student body equally diverse racially because my high school is almost but I like and kinda use to it…I don’t think id feel comfortable if there was predominantly 1 race even if its my own. Thanks
And I’m a girl if that affects my experience b/c my bro is always trying to scare me with these stories of rape from certain colleges I was thinking of going to but I’m sure it could happen at any college.

Well I just looked at the colleges I want to go to on californiacolleges.edu and most of them have like 8-2% of my race but I shouldn’t be surprised b/c my race is a minority in california.

And actually I take back about my school being diverse because the area\city is and the school has about (black, asian, hispanic)3 races equally, and whites are the minority.

I don’t know what I want to major in but something science related.now I’m thinking biochemistry, engineering, oceanography, hydrology, materials science, environmental science, or biology

It’s not Southern california, it’s in the Central Coast.

Santa Barbara County and SLO County are considered Central Coast.

The college is 67% Caucasian, 12% Hispanic, and 10% Asian-American, and the rest is other races like Indian-American, African American, and other ethnicities.

Life? SLO is a small-sized city. There is plenty of hiking trails, bars downtown (if you’re into it), arts scene downtown, a movie theater downtown, and a bowling alley at the college. The weather is great and is usually around the 70s year round.

The nearest beach to Poly is in Morro Bay. About a 10 minute car drive.

Since you’re an out of area college student, I expect you will do most of your shopping back in your hometown. But for groceries, I know college students go to Costco and Trader Joe’s and Albertson’s and Food 4 Less.

O well central california is still a change but I decided to take this college off my list because it was the smallest and I really want to go to San Diego but thanks for your help.
