I’d say your numbers are a bit on the lowside. Very high 700s in Math and a science SAT II would definitely help. It is a STEM school, so I think your math and lab extracurriculars are the most important. How much detail can you go into on those in essays and what not? I feel that demonstrating passion for STEM fields is important in the application.

Your ECs are more Claremont Mckennaish. It just doesn’t seem like you would be happy at HMC, since the students are very mathematical (at admitted students day, I ran into a couple HMC students who were telling jokes in math). Nevertheless, you probably need to increase your SAT by a whole lot, since Mudd gives a lot of emphasis on numbers. I don’t really know what to say about your rank, since you don’t say how many people are in your class. One of the things that is working in your favor is the fact that you’re a female in STEM, but that’s not gonna carry your app much. Over a third (from what I remember) of the class at HMC were valedictorians apparently. You can tell that they really care about sheer numbers.
