one thing that worries me if I wait until RD is that I’m not doing so well in two of my classes: AP spanish and AP biology.
For both classes I might actually have an average in the 80s for the 1st quarter, and since our school sends reports cards for 1st and 2nd quarter separately to the colleges for RD, I’m scared that they would outright reject me because of those two grades. It’s a significant drop from last year, because I had 99 in Spanish Honors and 96 in AP physics last year as a junior. It’s not that I didn’t study, but rather I did not know what to expect on the first test… and I bombed one test for those two classes and that brought down my average.

Thanks for helping me out!!!
Any advice/ comments would be great!
Please comment me on the senior year grade, how important it is.

bump…

Hey thanks for chancing me! SAT I and II are great, AP scores are fine. Submitting research is an added bonus and your EC’s look ok. I’d say that the main thing you need to do is try to pinpoint the main focus of your ECs and write some nice personal essays and you’ve got a pretty good shot. Good luck!

same comment as above good luck!

i think youve got a good shot, but since its brown its obviously hard to say anything for sure. your sat ii’s might be a little iffy, yeah, but sat and grades sound great so far,
and your summer programs (especially the poetry workshop and research) seem like theyll look really good. ive got the same situation with grades haha, id love to just get in ED and not have to worry about that…
good luck!

Thanks for chancing!

Honestly, there’s no reason why you wouldn’t get in. It’s sort of a crapshoot for all of us but I think you have a great chance of making it. You have good EC’s, scores, everything. The only thing that may be a LITTLE negative factor is your CR score for SAT I? But like you said, scores aren’t everything and your overall score definitely puts you within the range. And yes, let’s pray for each other!! I definitely need it… hahaha.

By the way, from what I know, senior grades don’t really affect admissions that much? I don’t think it affects your GPA; colleges just look at them to make sure you’re not completely slacking off. I know someone who got into Brown with 3 A’s and 3 B’s last year, so yeah! Don’t worry too much about that :)
