my 11 grade final score was 3.67 gpa or 4.67 weighted gpa. My predicted IB score is a 3.83 or 4.83 gpa. I take Physics math and Business HL and my SLs are english, spanish ab and chemistry. My SAT is 1260 with math 700 and english 560. and my second attempt is 1320 with math 720 and english 600. what are my chances of getting into UF, FSU, Penn State, U Mich, Purdue, UW wisconsin, UCF and Michigan State?
Also i have a good amount of extra cirriculars. I played on my school soccer team in 8th and 10th grade.
i calculated my gpa on the internet but i got 35 for my finals in IB1. 6 in math HL and Physics HL, 7 in business HL, 6 in spanish, 5 in english sl and chemistry sl. my predicted IB score is 36 with only chemistry increasing to a 6. I really want to get into UF
hey if anyone can answer my question pls do because im currently stressing out because im scared that none of these colleges would accept me. also i mean UW
Engineering is a competitive major. Purdue, UF, and Michigan are going to be reaches. You should have a good chance at UCF and FSU, and probably Penn State.
I got a sat score of 1350 math 700 and English 650. And IB 11 grade finals 35 and and predicted 36 with 6,6 and 7 I’m my HLs. DO I have any chance in the above colleges I stated. My first choice would be UF or Penn state
i got into UF with the same scores except my 11th was 33 not 35. UF and colleges in that same tier are surely not a reach if you write good grades. I heard of people who had sat scores of 1400+ and UW gpas of 3.7+ and still got rejected. The essay is a huge huge huge part of the application.
Penn State considers test scores to be “very important”, and your scores are just at the 75th percentile. While they didn’t report average GPA, 42% of students are in the top 10% of their high school class, and 76% are in the top quarter. This seems like a match school for you.
UF considers test scores to be “important” (GPA, rigor, essay, and ECs character and talent count for more than test scores). Your English scores are within the 75th percentile, but your math is slightly under that. That’s okay. Here is the ugly part: 97% of accepted students have an unweighted GPA of 3.75 or higher. Only 2% of accepted students had a GPA between 3.5 and 3.74. Your GPA plus the competitiveness of the engineering major makes this college a reach for you.
Keep in mind that these numbers are for the college in general. Engineering programs are typically more competitive.
This information can be found by doing a search for the name of your college plus “Common Data Set” and reading Section C.
