Based on what I write about myself here, could you tell me my chances of getting into Lawrenceville? I'm a girl and I go to the #3 public school in my state, but my dad was considering sending me to Lawrenceville prep. If I went, I'd be going as a boarding student. I plan on applying for the 2015-2016 school year, during which I will be a junior. I just finished my freshman year. My GPA is around a 3.7/3.8 unweighted, 3.9 weighted (I say about because my final transcript for the year has not come out yet). I played on my school's tennis team, which went to states this year, but didn't win. I have been playing piano and bass for 8 years. Also, I feel like it might be important to state that my family wouldn't be eligible for financial aid, which I've heard is a good thing because schools want money (but might be bad because they want diverse financial backgrounds). I plan on doing a lot of community service over the summer. Based on this, could you guys tell me my chances of being accepted into Lawrenceville as a boarding student for 2015-2016? Thanks so much!!

Full pay is NOT an anti-hook at all. But entering for junior year’s going to be tough.

Chances threads go in the chances forum. :)

Now idk if this thread will get moved to the Chances area, but whatever lol, I’ll still contribute my little bit of advice.
I’d say apply as a repeat tenth grader. It will not only help your chances if getting in, but would also help you with not being so stressed your junior year with all that goes on, as well as a richer boarding school experience with the three years you’d get.
Also, look at other schools! There are plenty out there that would most likely be great choices for you. Go on boardingschoolreview.com to look at some. Maybe start with Choate or Hotchkiss to give you a starting point. Taft and Loomis are good options too!

Hi - your GPA is great.Your extracurriculars also seem pretty good. How good of a tennis player are you? Are you nationally or regionally ranked? Have you contacted the tennis coach?

Finally what are your SSAT scores? This will have a large bearing on how competitive of an applicant you would be.

If you’re already at a top public school, why are you considering Lville and paying the full freight?
