I was unlucky and got capped when I applied to UT Austin. I just recently started at a community college (during summer semester, weird I know) near my home (I live in Texas). I want to try to transfer to UT after the end of my spring semester but I’m scared they’ll reject me again. In high school, I was a fairly good student. I was in National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and IB but I didn’t get my IB diploma. I also finished with a 3.5 GPA. I know I have to get a high GPA to be able to transfer but on the UT website it says that the minimum required GPA is a 3.0, but really how high should my GPA be? Also what will be my likelihood of getting in? (Majoring in Biochem)
I know that what your GPA is at the community college is what really matters, not your high school GPA. I’d say to at least get a 3.75 or so for a really good chance of getting in AND getting your major of choice.
