Bump! Sorry!

Please help me out guys.

Thank You =)

Sorry to say this, but low chance.

Well, ur GPA is way too low. It should be around 3.8+. Ur ECs are also not that interesting/unique.

What grade are u in? If u r not yet a senior, you can do more ECs and work really hard to increase that GPA.

Also, make sure your essay is AWESOME.

From your list, I think Georgia Tech, CMU, Cornell, and UCLA seem to be your best bet.

Make sure u apply to other lower ranking schools just in case.

You are going to have to, really have to, lower your sights. Outside of Georgia Tech none of the schools you’re applying to are realistic. All are high reaches. I’m sorry but people with 3.1 GPAs do not get into those schools. Yes your test scores are excellent but GPA is more important. All you’ve done is prove yourself to be a smart slacker. That generally gets people rejected quickly. The colleges will think, if you weren’t willing to work hard in high school, why would you be willing to work hard when we let you in?

Based on your stats, I would apply to Purdue, Maryland, UIUC, Texas and Virginia Tech as targets along with Georgia Tech. Then probably safeties like state schools or directional state schools, i.e. Western Michigan. Even then, for your targets, you will have difficulty getting in if your grades are not close to 4.0 this semester. It’s beyond clear to me with your SAT score you are capable of getting a 4.0 if you would just put in some consistent effort. Still even with a 4.0 this semester, you will be borderline at those schools, just because your ECs are very plain and your GPA is not very strong. Best of luck to you.

Yes lol, I’m very lazy -_-

So let’s say I go to a state college for 1-2 years? If I maintain a 4.0 GPA over there with a lot of EC activities and etc. Can I transfer to Columbia, Stanford, MIT? Also I’ll be doing 5 more new volunteers starting January!

Currently I’m volunteering at these hospitals:

Maimonides Medical Center

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center

Lennox Hospital

Almost reaching 150 hrs.

Also the fact that I started a tutoring center myself for free; to tutor kids from Pre-K to 8th grade. Also getting other students to volunteer and participate is not unique? I just wanna know that because I put a lot of efforts onto it.

Possibly. You realize that there are years where Stanford and MIT take like 5 transfers total right? Compounding your problem is that some of those kids will come from schools like Northwestern or Williams. I mean you really have your work cut out for you for the ultra elite schools. Although Columbia does accept a relatively large number of transfers for a mid/high Ivy, about 150 I believe. You will have to work extraordinarily hard in college if you really want to attain your goal. Also, you better get a 4.0 this year. It will help you a bunch for Columbia if you get 5 semesters of 4.0 than 3 semesters.

I’m really sorry to bug agian, but I appreciate all the help guys. Thank you so much!

Can you please recommend me some good software engineering colleges?

Thank You!
