I really want to get in at uci … but i have 4.0 gpa on my junior year but my sat score is below 1200 . Also i have joined 3 different clubs this year. Also I took 4 different classes in community colleges. Is there any posibility that I can get into uci with that sat score?
no. no way. absolutely not. sorry for being terribly harsh, but that SAT score is far too low. Maybe try the ACT? What’s your UC GPA? It doesn’t mean much to say that you got 4.0 your junior year. Also, for those classes at your CC to earn credit, they have to be UC applicable for credit. Are they?
We need more information about you, like your cumulative GPA, clubs, major, financial background, etc to tell you that decisively.
Yes they are applicable for uc… my uc gpa is 3.9
@Maria46 Are you OOS? Like I said, maybe try the ACT? IF you want, work as hard as you can to improve your SAT score over the summer so you can take it one last time.
is that SAT score 2 part or 3 part?
3 part
Is SAT score out of 1600 or 2400? You want to aim for an SAT around the 1900 range. Essays and EC’s will also contribute to your chances but unless you increase the SAT score, UCI will be a reach.
2400
I heard that there is many students get into uci with low sat scores
Your school is awful. Usually gpa has relative correlation with SAT score. How is it even possible to have a 3.9 over a two year span and then get a 1200. You either didnt study or your school sc***ed you over. Try again on the standardized test.
Look into test optional schools
UCI is possible if you can get your SAT score up to the 1800 range. You might also want to try the ACT. Both sons did better on the ACT vs SAT. I would look into some of the other UC’s such as UCR/UCSC and Cal states if you are unable to raise your scores. Test optional schools would be appropriate as mentioned by @DrDizzy. Good Luck and study hard.
Average SAT score for UCI last year: 1867/2400 or ACT of 27.
