Hey, I just wanted to see if I had a chance of getting in?

Not so fast. Are you Hispanic, Native American, or African American? Those are the only ‘minorities’ that will help. If you’re Asian, it will work against you. So, if you don’t mind, please reveal your race/ethnicity so I can more accurately chance you. :)

If you’re an underrepresented minority (one of the 3 I listed above not including Asian), you have an above average shot for Harvard. Absolutely no guarantees, but a URM applicant with a 2300 SAT and several impressive internships will be hard to turn away at most top schools. But then again, Harvard isn’t just any top school.

If you’re Asian, you have an average chance, but the odds are against you.

Good luck.

You look like an interesting person on paper. Bonus if you’re a URM with a humble background.

Now seal the deal with kickass recs and irresistable essays.

I know this will sound nitpicky, but Harvard requires three Subject Test scores. Aside from that: while you have an interesting slate of internships under your belt, you don’t seem to have exhibited many major leadership qualities outside of Operation Smile. Are you going into senior year after this summer?

Your chances could be greatly buoyed because you’re a URM, but the sum total of your experience so far seems somewhat middling. Like the above poster suggests, throw yourself into your applications, and best of luck. Remember, admissions are a total crapshoot.

^Not true. Harvard got rid of their 3 SATII requirement. They now only require 2.
