Thanks for your help!!

gpa is a little low, Math score is strong..are you planning on majoring in a Math related field... if so, your strength there may help. The ap courses are a plus. How were your recs and your essay? These are impportant at Pepperdine, they like to know the whole person. Quite often if they like the package, the gpa isn't as critical. Don't know much about how baseball is recruited (basketball fan myself) but if you are good enough for them to show interest for the team, that is a plus. Any church affiliation?
Best of luck waiting for April 1st!

Well I'm only a junior so i haven't done my recs and essay yet but i'll try to make those as strong as possible of course.

How much do they weigh church affiliations?

I appreciate the help!!

On their data sheet, church affliliation is not weighed as much as grades, essay, and scores, but it is still important to them.

JC*, I'm not that familiar with Peprdine, but is a 3.5 UW considered relatively weak?

I do not have any inside info on this, but from my d's experience, some of her friends and the data sheet, it seems that for the most part it would be considered low. However, again, Pepperdine is unpredicatable because they look at many factors. My feeling is that they are pushing the envelope higher the past few years, hearing 3.8 is an average. But with that in mind an average indicates some lower, some higher. Essays, recs and SAT scores are also weighed heavily in the mix. From just the sample of students my d encounters, I would say if you are Church of Christ, there is an advantage even if you are are on the lower end of the gpa average.
It is definitely a unique place, not for everyone, but an exceptional experience for those who find a fit. I think that is why their process is somewhat unpredictable. They are striving for successful students, who also have a sense of serving others. Therefore they may take someone with a 3.6 over a 4.0, because they have demonstrated good comunity service and strong character. It is one of the reasons I think I was so impressed with the school. The administration was very clear that they were not for everyone and not everyone is right for them.
