What's my chances?

Hey guys, I'm new here so please bear with me. =)

Thanks guys! Sorry if I broke any posting rules or anything, i find that some users on this site can be quite irritable with newbies.

UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2007
UCLA Admissions statistics by major.

USC average transfer GPA from what I've heard from visiting admission representatives was 3.7 last year as well.

However, your SAT's are very good and EC's are great. Clearly the Professors you've chosen to write your reccomendations will write decent ones, which can be made amazing if you supply them with additonal information from your EC's. Them mentioning some of these activites will make you stand out, I imagine. Good luck! Hope this helps a bit!

It's not clear if you're talking about a lower division or upper division transfer. UC upper division transfer does not accept SATs, letters of req, etc., not sure about lower division, but lower division transfers are extremely competitive.

The thing to keep in mind about those private schools is that they're generally not designed to transfer in students. The CCCs are designed, I'm guessing, to offload lower division education from the UCs and CSUs and then transfer a bunch of people in junior year.

Anywho, you've got a decent GPA and great soft factors. I'd say you'd have a great shot at any of the publics, and as for the privates it would just depend on who else applies.

i only posted the SAT stuff so I could get chanced for the privates that require them. I know that the UCs don't take recs or test scores. Anyone having any percentages?

thanks guys

You might get better responses regarding those private schools in the fora which are dedicated to them.

I don't think anybody will be able to give you your percentage chance, though, except possibly with a very wide margin of error.

UCLA, UCB, UCSD, UCSB, Stanford, Cornell and USC

Stanford: Biggest Reach - practically no chance (this goes for practically any CCC student).
Cornell: 2nd biggest Reach (depends on dept.)
UCB: Reach for Econ department - write a terrific essay, others may argue the contrary, but I think you have a shot.
UCLA: Slight reach for biz-econ major - definitely doable.
UCSB/USC/UCSD: Match

Good Luck.

ur in for UCLA cuz of honors program!
