GPA? recommendations? I goto a top 25 accounting school and the big 4 recruits pretty well here. Should I do the MAcc program and get my CPA?

GPA, faculty recommendations, leadership (officer in a club, Frat/Sorority, etc.), some community service is nice.

Basically very good grades and evidence that you had at least some life in college.

what’s the big 4? sorry

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Four_auditors

I dont know what people did before wikipedia… sorry O/T

you don’t need faculty recommendations.

you just need a decent gpa and being normal always helps. you dont need very good grades. it always depends on which area you looking for.

Well, it’s been a while since I recruited on campus, but the first thing we always did was ask the faculty in the accounting department for who they thought were their best students. It mattered a great deal.

And if we’ve moved away from a serious focus on grades (not perfect 4.0s like we did for a while, but still very good grades) I haven’t heard it.

3.5+ gpa, join beta alpha psi if your school has it.

People with 4.0’s used to want to go into accounting? Suckers.

I go to UIUC, have a 3.5, and have good leadership positions in my fraternity… From what I’ve seen, the big 4 recruit pretty hard here as we are the #1 or 2 place to be for accy, but how big of an advantage does that put me at?
