whats nyu's policy on SAT scores?

my december SAT scores are horrendous

my superscore went up but my overall score went down
do they only take the best scores in each section?

or does it look really bad if you declined by 100 points so it looks like a fluke (only declined by 30 if u dont count the writing)

also, i didnt send ALL my scores because i just went to their website because they said that they wanted SAT I +2 SAT IIs
so i just chose Oct SAT I and Dec SAT I and my 2 highest SAT IIs

It would really help if you post your exact scores

CR M W

Oct SAT I

690 750 750

Dec SAT I

640 770 660(***)

June SAT II: Chem 760
Nov SAT II: Math II 780

all in 2009
im still really mad at that december showing
there must be some kinda mistake

well yeah, superscore them I guess because you’ll break 2200 that way and assuming you’re applying to Stern and that you have a good gpa, these scores aren’t at all and are in fact very good

Just send both of your SAT I’s. A 660 is lower than your 750… but it’s still not BAD. Plus they only look at the best of each section.

And your SAT II’s are strong. Send both.

From NYU forums (FWIW):

“Yes, you can use Score Choice when submitting test scores to NYU however there is no particular advantage to doing this. We encourage you to send us all of your test scores and we will consider the highest section scores on the SAT Reasoning test from all of your test dates when evaluating your application. Essentially, the NYU admissions office practices “Score Choice” for you.”
