Whats schools should I be looking at?

I'm currently in my 3rd semester at my CC. I took all remedials my first semester and made 3 B's and one A. My second semester I took three 3 classes and made all A's, and I currently have a 3.57 GPA. I'm taking 15hrs this semester and I currently have four A's and one B. So hopefully that will raise my GPA even further. I was hoping to transfer to a pretty big school called Louisiana at Lafayette, but with my GPA I think I have a shot at an even better school. Maybe a LSU or a Tulane. Are my goal realistic? I do plan on taking one more semester at my CC to have the neccessary 30 credits to transfer to those schools.

Oh and I am Hispanic and the first college student in my family. I heard that helps me out.

Not sure how much your race will help you out, but an upward trend in grades is definitely a good thing. Just be sure to apply to a range of schools so that you are not left without options if you don’t get into your “reach” schools. What extracurriculars do you have? Do you have some strong relationships with professors for letters of recommendation? You should even start drafting your personal essay and put it aside for a little while to make sure you have a fair amount of time to polish it up.
