What's SDSU like as a college?

Im British and hope to study in the US.
Is SDSU a good college? From the pictures I've seen, it seems very party orientated, I don't mind that but how is it academically?

Is it a competitive college for international students?
The GCSE's I've gained are;
English Language B
English Literature B
Art B
Applied Science B/B
Product Design B
Textiles B
Media A*
Maths C
ICT and computing A*
Religious Studies B
And im doing German this year as a GCSE and i am predicted an A.

For my Alevels i have chosen;
Philosophy and Ethics
Media Studies
History
English Literature

Im part of;
Book Club
Photography Club
The schools mentoring scheme

Ive had work experience at Paul Smith, Catherine's Exclusive Fashion and Primark. Im not sure if you should count being a nanny as its not a propper job:)

And what's the financial aid like there for international students? Im eligible for an academic scholarship through a company in the UK, but its only for undergraduate years.

Is journalism available for as a major? and if so, is it a good major?

Help needed please:)

Thankyou!

SDSU has long been known as a party school, but recent changes to automatic admission scores will likely change the student body to more academic oriented. It is a very large public university in one of the nicest large cities in the US. Big time sports, lots of commuter students, and a spirited student body. Beautiful campus too.
