What's the best dorm at FSU?

My friend lives in Texas and can't come to FSU's campus to check out dorms at this time. Does anyone have advice on what dorm she should stay at? She's an incoming freshman and a psychology major.

Awesome, another Psych major. And my family just moved to Texas too :)

Avoid Smith and Kellum at all costs!
Any idea what her priority # is? We could give better expectations then. Also, does she want more social or nicer living?

Gilchrist is definitely the best dorm if her priorities are the best living conditions (biggest rooms/ thick more sound proof walls/ generally nice.) It is suitestyle. The people are nice but we generally aren’t a social dorm (we have socials but I wouldn’t give any expectation to become buddies with your entire floor.)

Broward is connected to Gilchrist and therefore Landis (we are BLG.) From the outside it looks decent (I haven’t seen the rooms/ only go there for the vending machines during all nighters). Suitestyle. I haven’t heard many complaints.
Bryan would be a decent choice as it would be freshman only.

I’m not sure why so many incoming freshman are leaning towards Wildwood and Degraff? My boyfriend stayed in Degraff over summer and we both stayed in Wildwood for orientation. The walls were Very thin, low water pressure, and there isn’t a lock on your side of the bathroom door! If she has a decent priority # though I would certainly choose Wildwood over Dorman/ Deviney/ Kellum/ Smith.

People choose WIldwood/Degraff so they don’t have to get a meal plan.

Can someone order the dorms at FSU from best to worst? My friend says ranking is alright too. She doesn’t know her priority # b/c she hasn’t applied for housing, and yes she knows she’s probably very late, but she’s trying to get everything together now. She says that she’d like them ranked/ ordered in how they are overall, not just with any one particular thing weighing more than the other. Basically she doesn’t need social life or living conditions to weigh more in ranking than another, just rate the dorms on how you feel overall. Also, the reason she hasn’t applied yet is b/c she said that when one does apply for housing they have to list their choices? And she doesn’t know her choices yet, which is why she asked me to make this post. She also wants to thank anyone/everyone for their replies.

To be honest, if she has no priority number yet, it does not matter. She will get one of the last rooms available no matter what she ranks. You can sign up for housing and pick ANY dorms and go back and change up until the deadline, which is VERY SOON. But really, at this point she would be in Smith, most likely. Smith or Kellum. They are the least requested dorms, along with Dorman and Devinay.

Avoid Smith, Kellum, Deviney & Dorman. I’ve stayed in Deviney and Kellum and they are pretty nasty. The nicest dorms are any of the following: wildwood, degraff, gilchrist, cawthon (music majors), and if you want apartment style Ragans is beautiful.

Im a political science major…into sports and a good amount of partying…dont really care about the scenery. what dorm would you suggest for me?? dorm size is not that important as long as its not a dump lol.
