What's the best I can do?

I'm a sophmore at UNC Asheville and have a 3.6 so far. I had a 4.1 in high school and my SAT scores are 630 math 670 verbal. Basically this school is just way too small for me and doesn't even really have a major for the course of study I'm strongly considering, international relations. However, I'm also considering philosophy, so I'm not sure how much that will work as a reason. I used Asheville as a safety school (not very smart) and ended up having to go when I didn't get in to any of the other schools I applied to. I don't have any extra-cirriculars in college, but I did get 4th place in an essay contest a few months ago concerning the debate over governments using violence.

I know I should try for Chapel Hill because it's such a good school and I'm in-state, but what about a school like Georgetown? I really like the idea of studying in a big city that has a lot of people/opportunities, etc. Being in a big city isn't an absolute requirement, though, I just want something bigger basically. So, where else would be good to apply? What's feasible with my GPA?

Hmm give Georgetown a shot if you want, but why not also consider NYU. It has the best philosophy department in the nation and a higher transfer rate - I think you'd probably get in. And if NYC doesn't fulfill your big city dreams, nothing will. ;)

Thanks for the response. I never really thought my grades were high enough for NYU, or Georgetown for that matter. But I'm definitely researching more into NYU now, so thanks for the advice. Here's hoping I can swing enough financial aid if I get in somewhere great. Sigh.
