I dont mind shedding money on a subscription for something. What is the best thing to read? NY times, etc?

if u miss a lot of sentence completion, then I suggest NYTimes. Thats what I used to get my old SAT verbal score from a 680 to a 760 since the old SAT was more vocab driven. If you have more passage problems, then NYTimes could still help, but not as much as actual test practice.

im pretty decent at sentence completions, i get TONS wrong on reading comp though, my score was a 560 in CR with only two or three wrong with sentence completions and the rest on passages.

How many weeks/months in advanced should I start reading NYTimes if I was in the same situation?

Even a few months in advance would help. Start as early as possible. I guarantee there wont be a day when you dont learn a new word if you put a decent amount of time. What I did was to write down all new words and define them in a notebook, which I look over regularly. Read whatever sections interest you, although the sports section is horrible. The editorials I guess might help with with passages since they are similar in length and structure.

Do you recommend a set amount of time reading the NYTimes?

The Wall Street Journal is also excellent I hear. Read what you find interesting from it, don't do it as a chore. Once you get closer to the test and you want to start official prepping, I hear that grammatix is excellent for the CR section.

Where can I purchase Grammatrix? Is this only available online?

Yes Grammatrix is only avaliable online, but if you alert the owner that you want the "CC special", you will get the hardcover book for the same price as the ebook.

yeah it's at www.grammatix.com

if you want to get some info from the CCers, there's a huge thread about that too:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=53348

Thanks. Who do I ask for the "CC special"?

Email the owner, Mike.

Is the name of the book I want called "The Complete SAT and PSAT Strategy Guide"?

Hullo?! :(

yeah it is.

To buy the hard-back copy, I need to order the internet one too?

no. to get the hard copy, order the ebook on the site, then email mike and tell him you're a member of CC, and he'll send you the hard copy.

If you think like our founding fathers, then I recommend reading the National Review.

Well it really depends, If your a communist liberal you read the NY times, if your a fascist republican, go with the wall street journal. Theres no middle ground really.

When buying the Grammatrix book, I should order the "Digital Copy" which is $49.95 and e-mail Mike, telling him that I'm a member of the CC boards- in order to receive the hard copy? I should do this as opposed to ordering the "Digital Copy + Hard Copy" for $59.95?
