<p>Here are some thoughts to consider. For good students, in state universities are often good financial safeties as the COA is much lower than OOS and private. If your child has strong stats, consider the flagship university. For example, in California there are students who go to Berkeley or UCLA due to costs and get a very good education there.</p>
<p>Second, if the student is eligible for National Merit, you have some choices there as some universities give good aid to NMF. </p>
<p>A lot depends upon which state you live in and what your child’s record looks like.</p>
