whats the best way to sell your textbooks?

I have a few textbooks that my school will not buy back, I was wondering how do i go about selling these textbooks online?

Whats the best way? Ebay? Craigslist?

Try bookbyte dot com. They’ll pay for your shipping too!

I use Amazon, I usually can get a higher price than eBay, and they let you keep the listing up for as long as it takes to sell, versus eBay’s week-long or whatever listing and Amazon pays for shipping …Amazon usually overpays for shipping, actually if you use MediaMail.

I use uloop.com

I use half.com

I found success with Facebook’s marketplace since it advertises directly to Boston-area students. Also, Craig’s List. I get way more money from meeting people directly. If you’re worried about the crazies, I just use a central spot on campus for all my book dealings.

does anyone know if amazon will buy back books that are damaged? i’ve had my piano book for two semesters and the back cover fell off. plus i bought a lot of books as part of a set with a workbook and cd, but obviously the workbooks are all useless now and i’m not sure if they can be sold.

@ChelseaRose: amazon lets you put in a description of the quality of the book you’re trying to sell. i’ve seen ppl be really honest and put ‘POOR’ for the condition and describe it like your piano book. just say ‘the back cover fell off’ and if it has highlighting or wrinkled pages. some ppl are pretty cheap and they’ll buy anything. ya never know…

awesome, thanks. i think i’ll do that then. the school store is too cheap to buy them back for more than a few dollars, anyhow, so it’s worth a shot.

It’s easier to find people around campus or friends taking your classes to sell them to. You can usually get more money that way, and they’re getting a deal.

You could use that site posted above OR trust a company that isn’t ran in somebody’s basement.
