last year penn was the school where everyone seemed to apply early..what about this year?

Well, I'm not sure, but I think Princeton has had an increase in early apps. There seems to be a crazy amount of Stanford and Harvard EAers at my school...I would say Stanford is the "it" university for my school this year.

At my daughter's school it's definitely Penn this year.

From everything I have read it seems like ED at Penn is your best bet. Penn uses ED to determine who really wants to be there. They come right out and say this.

This year Yale is the big one at my school, but that's the opposite of the national trend (Yale's total early apps dropped by 13%).

For our school its Princeton and Stanford

Cornell is lookin' hot!

gladlybeyond--The increase in early apps to Princeton was only about 2%, so basically negligible.

The increase in early apps to Stanford was 5%, which, though not huge, is greater than Princeton. I haven't seen Harvard's numbers, but if I had to guess I would say that the "it" school is either Stanford or Penn.

Harvard here

My school sends a lot of people to Ivies/etc. and this year Yale is the most popular for the top students.

yale for my school. 24 applied early.

My school has four or five people prospective for Wash U. Yes I know, but at my school, if a top 50 school is being considered by a senior, its always been by ONE. This is definitely not indicative of a national trend, I just find it amusing.

stanford for mine, almost every other person is applying there regardless of their stats.

Everyone here applies to UF (state school), MIT, and Duke.

Penn at my school, the count is up to 33....12 alone for jerome fisher, thank god i'm not one of em

Penn ED (guess why :P)
Penn state and Pitt always are
Indiana and BU (where I applied XD) are getting very popular despite the fact that a total of ONE person went to BU AND Indiana from my school last year

At my brother's private school, in a class of 60, 11 applied ED to Penn.

In my public school, we probably have close to 50/400 applying early to Ivies/MIT, etc.

pretty much the same, jPOD haha....those insane penn people

I'm applying to BU too!

What school at BU are you applying to PHT?

CAS....but the 7 year med program

Penn at my school too. Wash U ED as well. Both express a preference for ED applicants.
