What's The Cost Of Applying For FA?

Hi,

I'm an international homeschooled student applying to some US universities this autumn, and I'm going to be applying for financial aid. However, I've heard that one actually has to pay to apply for financial aid. Is this true, and if so, how much is it per college? I'm applying to these colleges:

Harvard, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Stanford

Williams, Middlebury, Amherst

Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell, UPenn, Caltech, Columbia

Grinnell, IIT, Colgate, Bryn Mawr

if that helps.

Thanks!

P.S. I'm applying to UK universities too, of course, but the whole process of applying for aid seems very different here.

You’ll have to submit the CSS/PROFILE for all of those schools. It’s $9 to apply and then $16 per school. FAFSA is free. All in all, it should cost you…

$297

And that’s not including application fees ($50 - $75 per school), the fees to send your SAT and ACT scores, and post.

Thanks very much :).

It’s a lot of money, but nothing ventured nothing gained I guess.
