What's the deal with those evil, filthy liberals? Why are they so intent on tearing down everything that made America what it is? Why are they such overly-idealistic, religion-hating moral relativists? Why are they such defeatists, especially when it comes to wars of any kind? Why do they pretend to love freedom when they favor vast, monolithic bureaucracies for governments? Why do they think that all ideas regarding how men should live that are older than them are irrelevant? Why are they usually young people with no more than a couple of years of post-secondary liberal arts education?

Modern day liberals suck. Classical liberalism is where it's at.

Saying all liberals are moral relativists is ridiculous, most philosophers i have met are liberal and there are really no moral relativist philosophers. Also, the government isn't there to enforce morals, their purpose is to protect liberties (economic and personal)

Oh yea, and religion should have no part in gov't.

"Why are they usually young people with no more than a couple of years of post-secondary liberal arts education?"

Because they repeat everything Mommy/Daddy/liberal Professors/fake newcasters spew and have not mastered the concept of thinking for themselves.

Oh how I detest Colbert and Stewart. Watching the news on Comedy Central does not mean you have expertise in political issues. Watch real news and do some research on political issues.I highly doubt some young liberals really care which senators voted yea or nay on a bill. (btw senators' votes are made public by visiting the official site for the U.S. Congress) Good Grief. (end of rant)

Not all young people are liberals, so your assumption is invalid. I for one am not. Which is rather ironic, considering I am a poli sci major, which is a field that has some of the most LIBERAL of the liberal professors.

And I agree with Smurfette, Comdey Central does not count as news. If you want to speak on an issue at least be informed with info from a credible source. Nothing bothers me more than people who argue politics that have no credibility behind it.

well where did most of the young people get their 2004 presidential news coverage? You guessed it: Comedy Central. People don't understand that the Colbert Report and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart are purely SATIRE, yet that's what young people are watching nowadays instead of REAL NEWS.

I'm so annoyed with all of the Bush-bashing threads on here. He's our president, whether you like it or not, and complaining about him isn't going to change that. Stop squawking about it if you didn't vote/not of the legal voting age (exception: if you are a political junkie)/don't know anything about politics/have nothing else to gripe about.

Also if you really detest him that much, are you detesting him because you're jumping on the bandwagon, or are your reasons justified? Everyone here says "Clinton was the best president" and yet when he was inaugurated you were probably about 5 years old. Did you know prior to 1993 that he was a good candidate for the presidency? I didn't know that some of you knew about his foreign policy and national policy very well when you were in 4th grade that you can legitimately say that he was a good president. I was focused on my reading, writing, and arithmetic. <sarcasm></sarcasm>

"People don't understand that the Colbert Report and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart are purely SATIRE, yet that's what young people are watching nowadays instead of REAL NEWS."

So GW, Rummy, Cheney, Condi are all part of the SATIRE? :) They didn'y really say those things?

"yet that's what young people are watching nowadays instead of REAL NEWS."

If I want to watch REAL news I'll watch the following NEWS channels:

CBC Newsworld

BBC News (if not, the internet stream they offer)

ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation which CBC sometimes runs)

American news is a joke in of itself. It has been since they started deeming "real news" to be a young hot teen disappearing, celebrity trials and partisan bickering. If I want to want "real news", I'll tune into the big three US 24 hour news networks. What a pathetic joke they are.

Also, to those who are whining about liberal professors, take a couple Economic courses and/or Business courses, then come to me about how Stalinistic your prof is.

To neo-con wannabes everywhere, stop restating things already said by the millions of Ann Coulters, Rush Limbaughs and Michael Savages of the world.

what's with conservatives from Ontario who stereotype way too much?

and by the way, what's wrong with not liking wars? sorry if i don't like getting involved with other nation's problems and having our own people die. and there are many liberals who are also religious, and what's wrong with not having a religion in the first place? And of course by religion you mean Christianity, not Buddhism or Hindu or any other. And believing that people should have rights to their own body and to marry regardless of their orientation is not overly-idealistic. Now, let me guess, you're going to ignore everything i say and just call me dumb anyway. typical:]
