<p>I don’t think it’s as beneficial as majoring in a specific discipline. Some or most uni’s let you major in engineering without selecting a specific discipline until after your first year, or even second. By then students usually have a much better idea of which discipline they want.</p>
<p>Many community colleges let you get an associate’s degree in Engineering Science, then you can transfer to a 4-year university in a specific discipline. That would also work fine.</p>
