<p>One does not affect the other. There have been times when I’ve been asked for both gpas but they do not interact. The only time your transfer gpa is really factored in is when it’s time to assign honors for graduation. They combine the transfer gpa and the usc gpa. Then they assign honors based on the lower of two. So for example, if my combined gpa is a 3.9 but my usc gpa is a 3.7, I would be magna cum laude. If my combined gpa is a 3.5 and my usc gpa is a 3.7 then I would graduate cum laude.</p>
