How do the guys dress at WashU? I have way too many t-shirts that are just typically high school and I feel like I'd like pretty ridiculous wearing a lot of them in college. What should I look into? I have like no henleys, thermals, or flannels. Just t-shirts with designs on them. I wanna start moving away from that.

Also for jeans...what kind of fit or companies do the majority of people seem to wear? I realize WashU has many well off students attending. I would definitely need financial aid so I'm not looking to go all out, I'd just like to hear what type of stuff is being worn there so I can fit in if I am ever so lucky to be accepted :)

It’s actually very casual, a lot like high school. Guys mostly wear T-shirts and jeans. It’s anything but preppy.

Here’s an example of what you’d find most people wearing on a Spring day:
http://i.imgur.com/wCnmc.jpg

As ravnzcroft said- jeans/cargo’s and t-shirts. As far as brand/cut, it really doesn’t matter. Especially for guys.

The same also (mostly) hold true for girls. But add in a sundress here and there as well.

(Also of note, I miss the pink trees. I wish they lasted longer than two weeks…)

There’s the occasional well-off kid who will dress very nicely everywhere. But there’s also a ton of kids who’s (parents are) loaded and you would never have a clue from the way they dress.

Plain, solid colors mainly? And do people wear WashU stuff everyday or just every once in a while? And how about wearing other college t-shirts? Do people do that or no?

You’re way too worried about stuff that doesn’t matter at all.

Very casual
As for the other stupid questions…

Plain, solid colors mainly? No not really
And do people wear WashU stuff everyday or just every once in a while? Occasionally, most don’t wear them at all, some do occasionally
And how about wearing other college t-shirts? A small percentage do, but not often

The dress is casual enough that if I wear a button up shirt, people automatically think I have a major event to go to.

people are naked everywhere

One thing that hasn’t been noted on this thread (to sort of contradict everyone, myself included):

B-school students do tend to dress up more (and not just on days where they have to for class presentations).

But as a (female) engineer, I don’t pay an ounce of attention to that lol. At least I don’t ever go to class in sweatpants!
