I applied to xavier because the application was free. i have no interest in xavier. i wasted the admissions office's time, and my spot could have gone to someone who really wanted to go.

I didn't apply to Skidmore because on their online page to request more information, where you put your address, they didn't have NM on the drop down list of states. And I live in New Mexico. Well then....

I didn't apply to any of the Ivys (Ivies?) for a variety of stupid reasons: 1) I didn't want to pay the application fee ; 2) Most were located in cold regions; 3) I didn't want to feel like I was the dumbest person there; 4) I was sick of the Ivy-craze...

I'm still pretty sure that I made a good choice (since I got into my state school with great scholarship), but I keep thinking...maybe I should have?

A school that really tempted me was UChicago, but just thinking about the cold made me quickly look away. :)

I didn't let myself even consider any schools in the South because wearing dresses and pearls to football games?.... no thanks. Then I lamely applied to Harvard in a desperate attempt to bridge a connection to Matt Damon, the official love of my life.

What the - I got into UCLA!

CONGRATS BOWLER HAT!!!

Me too. We could be roomies! Lol

I applied to D'Youville just because of the way their name sounded. I also applied to Fordham on a bet with my parents (they wanted me to, I didn't want to but I lost the bet) and I ended up getting a full-tuition scholarship.

Hamilton College - application required a photocopied academic paper/essay graded by teacher.

Middlebury College - cold, rural, VT.

Cornell: to please my parents :\ I had two aunts and an uncle who went there (his dad is a Prof. at Harvard)

I didn't apply to a bunch of schools I was interested in - namely Northwestern, Williams, Johns Hopkins, and Bucknell - because I convinced myself I'd be rejected. Now that the acceptances have started to roll in, and I can sit back and take a look at my application profile, I wonder what would have happened if I'd just given it a shot.

I also didn't apply to JMU because I'd just finished Oberlin's app and I was sick of it all. It's a good thing I just got into W&M, because I didn't have a safety I could pay for.

hahahah someone mentioned not applying to duke because of the website... it really is a bad website.

I didn't apply to UNC Chapel Hill as a transfer because I thought getting in OOS would be difficult. Turns out they don't care if you are OOS for transfers.

hated dartmouth because of the name, "dart mouth"

don't ask.

purdue because it reminds me of purdue chicken....and I'm vegetarian hahaa

Wolfpack, my D applied to Dickinson in part BECAUSE she LOVED the mermaid! It takes all kinds . . .

I almost applied to Dartmouth because of Keggy the Keg.

I didn't apply to Emory because the Ottawa Senators (NHL hockey) have a goalie named Ray Emery, and being from Buffalo and having watched the conference finals last year, I HATE Emery and the Senators A LOT.

this is goign to be SO silly...but the reason I applied to USC was because these guys go there:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH_G2DB85NY

i got in, too :)

ditto! I was actually hoping for some football players, but my god...the guy in the hoodie...

I applied to UC's just because it's a cali thing, Stanford because my brother already goes to Berkeley and my dad wants a kid there. USC for basically the same reason as drsarah, Pepperdine because it's absolutely gorgeous and Princeton...well, Carlton and Uncle Phil pretty much made me want to go there. I sent in the application as kind of a joke, and because I wanted at least one east coast school, but after my alum interview and researching it, I'm seriously in love. March 31 couldn't come soon enough.

drsarah...that has to be the funniest thing i have ever seen!! I wish I had seen it in September...I would have applied =P
