What's the easiest place to volunteer at that looks great on college app?

Well my options are the YMCA, EMS(emergency medical squad), or the hospital. I probably am not going to volunteer at the hospital until later so can anyone tell me if there's any other easy places to volunteer, where I can just sit and do my own work and just need to help out a little bit. BTW, what would I be required to do at the EMS or YMCA?

■■■■■?

Okay if not - volunteer where you will work enthusiastically and happily, NOT just for your college app. That’s not fair to the organization where you’ll volunteer, the college, or yourself.

Not sure what you mean by

I think he means that he wants to volunteer somewhere where the amount of work to be done is minimal. Quite honestly, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of volunteering?

Basically, you’re asking for a worthwhile volunteer activity that doesn’t demand your time and focus. Your best bet is to volunteer somewhere where a lot of other people volunteer and hope that they can cover you while you do your homework or catch up on your Zs. Do you have any friends who are active in something like that who would be willing to let you tag along and not ask you to do a lot of stuff?

The only slight problem about that is that it’s really sleazy and you won’t appreciate the value of service work. Also, it’s really really sleazy.

In my opinion, volunteer work is supposed to be fulfilling, not something you do for college apps. I recommend not volunteering if it isn’t something you are passionate about, and actually want to delve into…it defeats the purpose. Besides, I would think that school clubs would be better for uninvested participation.
