whats the expected gpa for transfer into ivies?

Also, acceptance % for Bowdoin and Middlebury are similar to Cornell liberal arts and sciences. No one is saying Cornell is a bad school, bball. Bowdoin happens to be a great very competitive school too, that's all.

bball- In your opinion how many of those 30% who get into Engineering are people from CC's??

Im fairly sure cornell is one of those great institutions that actually have detailed information of how many students they admit to each school so check their website...or the cornell forum on cc I think they had a lot of info.

OP: a 4.0 is obviously something you wanna have under your belt when trying to transfer to an Ivy. Although the averages may say 3.7, I think (and this is only my thought, I have nothing to back it up or anything...) that there are 3.5ers as well but you have to take into consideration intl students (generally getting a higher GPA in other countries is harder (?) so a 3.5 might mean more in Japan...) or ppl with really good hooks (like writing a best-seller book or being a very good athlete...). Goodluck

I got accepted to a couple of ivy-equivalent schools with a 3.56 GPA and no hooks like those you mentioned, though with very solid ECs and essays. If you are already at a top-20 school, most schools will look kindlier on a 3.5-3.7 GPA.
