OK, so everyone says that most good school don't take this test into consideration...and that's pure b u l l s h i t ....even as engineering majors all the ivies and even mit say math iic orrrrr math ic....so what the hell...

The curve is better on the 2c... for example 12% of people taking it get 800s. I took the 1c in May, got in the 99th percentile and still got a 770 :(

As for requirements, I don't know... 2c looks better at least.

People get that impression because the IIc has more advanced material on it (3D geometry and limits). But because of the curve I'd say the Ic is more "difficult" in the sense that it's harder to get a high scaled score. Good schools probably hold the IIc in higher regard just because it contains more advanced material, but they're also aware of the difference in the curves, so they take that into consideration as well. They'll look more highly on a Ic 800 than on a IIc 800 because it's more difficult to attain.

That's just not true ThinkDifferent. Anyone who gets like a 5 or 600 on the IIC could get an 800 on the IC if they don't make any stupid mistakes. Plenty of people who get 800s on the IC would do absolutely miserably on the IIC. Colleges know this.

IC may be more difficult in terms of test-taking abilities, but in terms of math, and this is an ACHEIVEMENT test we're talking about, the IIC is much tougher.

Has anyone taken the ACT math as well as the Math Ic or Math IIC?

Is the ACT Math considered harder than both of those?

I thought the order of difficulty was like this (hardest to easiest):

Math IIC
Math IC
ACT Math

I suck kinda bad at math comparatively. Scored 740 on IIC, 750 on IC, and 31 on ACT. I thought the ACT had fewer tricky questions than IIC and IC.

Ouch.. that's bad news.

I thought the ACT Math was pretty well-rounded myself. I crammed for every subject before hand, and basically every level of topic (including advanced ones) seemed to come up on it, although the advanced topics were still the minority. The ACT also sounds less lenient on grading compared to the SAT 2's: Miss one on the ACT and you're at least at a 35, and miss two and you might get a 34, which is what I received on it.

if you got a 34 on the ACT math, I think you'll do very well on IC. IIC is more advanced material so I can't really predict from the ACT math section, but IC is basically the same but a little trickier.

So how different is the Math Ic from the SAT I math? I got an 800 on that, but I'm not sure which SAT II to take. What type of formulas do you have to know for Math IIc? Like Law of Sines, Law of Cosines? **** like that? Do you even have to know formulas? What about for the math I?

I can confirm that you DO need to know certain formulas for the Math 2.

Like can you give me some examples? Not the actual formula, but the name.
