I haven’t had a hard course yet because I’m a freshman so I’m not sure, probably Honors Bio. What’s the hardest course you’ve taken?
In high school, probably multi-variable calculus or this one research class I took (where most of the year was devoted to one research project on a math/science topic). Honors Bio was also quite difficult for me, but probably because of the heavy workload.
In college, the hardest courses I’ve taken so far are most probably “Algebra 1” (abstract algebra, 18.701 at MIT) or design/analysis of algorithms (6.046). For the latter course, the average on the final was only around 40%.
I struggled with Algebra 2 as a freshman for some reason. Otherwise, probably APUSH or AP Chem.
Right now, I’m struggling with Chemistry Honors (I am a sophomore). My teacher is very picky about everything.
In high school, definitely multivariable calc.
In college so far (im a first year), I haven’t really had a hard class, except my first year seminar this semester which is writing intensive and in which an 82 is a C.
AP Physics C
Physics C. Torque will destroy your soul.
I haven’t taken anything I couldn’t have gotten an A in, but maybe APWH, probably because of the fact that I took it freshman year when I didn’t know what studying was. Constitutional Law DE was tougher than I thought too.
Probably Anatomy and Physiology 1, dual enrollment. It started out with just the right amount of challenge to inspire me to do well(98 percent first quarter), but its a lot of work and I’m honestly I’m feeling burned out lol.
AP Chemistry
AP World. The teacher is so damn petty
Pre Calc Honors. I found that class way harder than any AP Class I have ever taken. (Including AP Calculus)
IB French 5 and 6, but then again grade deflation was huge. Not even native speakers could get an A in that class. Paid off though with our exam scores!
Art 1…my teacher grades is on skill and talent…which I possessed none of, pulled an A though.
AP US History. I am NOT a history/rote memorization person and the tiny little details necessary (candidates and parties in elections of 1824 vs 1828, etc.) frustrated me to no end. AP World was easier because it was more big-picture than minutiae. Right now I’m taking multivariable calc and it’s actually easier than APUSH was (thus far - I’ll probably retract my words a few chapters later.)
In HS? AP Art History. The class just sucked all the energy out of me in the morning, despite me liking the teacher and subject. Something about it just didn’t resonate with me, unfortunately.
@hungryteenager
Nah, torque will enrich your soul.
AP Lang: Way too math/science oriented to write essays lololol (still snuck out with a 5 though :P…)
There aren’t enough AP courses at my school to have taken a really hard class. Only 5 are available, the hardest probably being AP Physics B (last year…) or Calc BC. I’d say Physics was hardest for me just because I had to teach myself, my teacher would just sing “You don’t know and you don’t care” to the class when we struggled instead of actually teaching.
Either AP Physics C mechanics or precalc. I’m not good at physics and precalc for some reason was just way harder than anything else (although calculus is really easy for me, ironically).
Taking AP Bio was easily the WORST school-related decision I ever made
