Funnily enough I got Regents so I'm already in Berkeley. But I've been doing incredibly poorly in my classes lately. What's the minimum GPA required so that they don't rescind my application? I might get 1 C which I hear looks pretty bad and I have probably 1 As and 4 Bs. I heard the min. GPA is 3.0 but is that weighted or unweighted? Cause if so, that just barely gets me over. However, I'm taking 4 AP classes so does that factor into anything?

it will say on your conditional acceptance when you get it. it's 3.0 unweighted, no d's if i recall correctly for all of senior year, not just 2nd semester.

haha, slacking off are we? Enjoy while you can.

It is still possible to slack off at Berkeley.

Just depends what you major in and what your non-major courses are.

Doesn't matter what classes you are taking; you can't use that as an excuse for getting lower than a 3.0. Berkeley Admissions won't care.

Thanks for the replies. Just another question though, do +'s and -'s factor into the unweighted gpa such as a B+ is a 3.3 and a B- is a 2.7?

Is it really that hard to maintain a 3.0 unweighted, considering that you're a Regents Scholar and that we live in an era of high school grade inflation? :)

Oh, by the way, pluses and minuses don't affect the calculation of your GPA. Once you're in college then they will count, and you will grieve about A minuses being calculated into your GPA...heh.

supposedly LA recently switched to 3.0uw ga minimum for ALL courses senior year, not just a-g

is this true of berkeley too?

I think it's always been all courses. If not, well, it is now.

of berkeley as well?

just get straight B!
