What's the most you improved in one month?

I need some motivation.

What's the most you have improved your SAT score in one month??

I took the SATs in March and got:

580 Reading
640 Math
730 Writing

Didn’t start studying until May (1 Month before the June Test) because I was studying for Subject Tests and APs and whatnot.

Anyway, in a month of studying I improved to:

730 Reading
710 Math
800 Writing

And I really didn’t put THAT much studying into it. Just memorized DH and did the practice tests.

what is DH?

Direct Hits’ vocab development book.

In one week of prep, I improved Writing form 670 –> 750 and Reading from 670 –> 720.

Bump Bump.

@ raiderate: how did u achieve that miracle? :open_mouth: in juz one week of prep?

@ raiderate: please tell us ur secret… SATs are coming up for me too and i want to improve my scores by all means… math is getting much easier as i just studied for the SAT 2 Math 2, but CR is grrr while writing is just having to study for the different types of grammar rules…

I got on my June SAT
CR - 520
Math - 780
W - 600
I have less than one week for prep for the SAT I on Nov. 6th one and I just did a practice test and wow…I improved miraculously! 8 wrong on CR and only 1 wrong on Writing. How I did it? I read few pages of a book I’m reading, thought about it, and then kept reading. I did this for an hour or so. I also went online to memorize some words.
You might think this is stupid and that anyone could do this. But I’m telling you that reading, even a small amount, will boost up your CR and W score. I’m serious.

I went up 160 in three days. If that helps?

I took the October SAT and studied only the three days school was off before the test and somehow have a 2320 now!

bump bump bump. bump. bump bump bump. bump. (love lockdown)

Bump. Come on people.

Reading was sheer dumb luck. Writing on the other hand I was able to pick up quickly. I did 1-3 practice sections every day and went through the answer explanations of EVERY single question. In addition, I used 10 days to a 12 essay and went up from an 8 to an 11.

I improved 370 points in a month on the real test. i did work hard with the official sat study guide and the testprofessors books. They’re newer i think but they worked way better for me than barrons or kaplan or princeton review.
