What's the percent of the applicants on average applying to FA every year?

I was wondering what's the percent of the students applying to FA every year at HYP, since they never reveal the actual data, what do you think?

It does not matter how many $ are applying as HYP commit to meeting 100% of the demonstrated need of all students that it accepts. In theory all students who apply to HYP could apply for FA but it does not mean that all students wil receive FA.

According to Princeton's last common data set 85% of the freshmen students and 90% of all students who applied for FA received FA.

According to Yales's last common data set 81% of the freshmen students and 90% of all students who applied for FA received FA.

It's important to realize when looking at financial aid figures that loans are indeed financial aid - even unsubsidized loans, which are not based on need in the in quite the same way as other aid (but which require that a FAFSA be filed). They can be used to replace EFC. HYP do meet need (possibly with no need based loans, but I'm not sure on that point) - but often families still find that they require loans to cover their EFC. They will often borrow unsubsidized Stafford loans and PLUS loans for this purpose - and these are "financial aid."
