I know for a fact that at the end of last year our 10% range was from 3.9 to 4.0 mainly because I had a 3.89 and had the misfortune of being in the 11th %

We do weighted, 4.5 being top GPA. Considering top 10% of our class is two people… our top two have 4.4-4.5. Top quarter of our class has 4.2+. Pretty tough group.

Top 10% is based on weighted GPAs. Unfortunately, honors and APs are weighted the same, so I get the same rank as someone who took no APs and only honors. I have a 4.7W and am tied with like 15 people, when I’ve taken the most APs.

You have to have straight A’s UW to even be close to the top 10%. My school is super competitive, so there is no grade inflation even though you may think they would be. People just work really hard.

People don’t work hard, there’s just grade inflation and classes aren’t really weighted. So even though I have a 3.9 UW I’m ranked barely in the top 10%.

Our school is on a weighted scale of from 0 to 4.5. The highest GPA ever achieved here, though, was a 4.03. Typically, the top 10% starts at around 3.3 or 3.4 and the top 25% starts at around 2.9 or 3.0.

We go on pure percentages, and out of 180 people, our top 10% is from 99.783 to 93.xxx. 2nd and 3rd are only a hundredth of a point away from each other.
