What's the scene like?

So college decisions are starting to trickle in, I've realized the the social/dating scene at college is probably gonna play a role in my final choice, so do any current college students have some input about it?

Hooking up, from what I've heard, is a lot more common than full on relationships, but to what extent is this true? Also, is this scene fragmented or does everyone end up involved some way or the other?

Oh, and if you could say something regarding any of these colleges it would be really helpful :)

Stanford, UIUC, Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, Harvey Mudd, MIT, Columbia, Penn, NYU, Yale, Berkeley, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Harvard, Princeton, Northwestern, Cornell and Purdue.

Nah it’s pretty true. You’d have an easier time finding a needle in a haystack than finding a woman who wants a relationship in college.

I have heard Northwestern is pretty notorious when it comes to hooking up, but I don’t know about the others.

All I know is that Purdue is like 70% dudes so the dating scene is probably pretty competitive.

There is something for everyone everywhere, whether in college or out on your own.

Most colleges fall victim to the hookup culture/long-term relationship dichotomy (certainly Princeton does), with hookups much more prevalent and casual dating almost nonexistent. A lot of it just has to do with how busy people are: they condense their social scene, partying and hookups included, into drunken weekend nights and focus on schoolwork during the week.
