I went on a tour of Georgetown, but there was very little talk of it.

Bumpety bump…

Do you mean there was little talk about the social life? If so, then I don’t know why this is because from my understanding Georgetown students are very social and have lots of parties and things like that. I have talked to a few Georgetown students, and they say that there are parties almost any day of the week (if you know where to look), and there are tons of awesome bars, clubs, and restaurants in the Georgetown area and DC.

So it seems to me that Georgetown’s social scene is very great!

I have several friends at Georgetown and all of them seem to party a fair amount so the party scene is definitely present.

georgetown students, where in dc can i get a fake id?

yessss i would like to know this too!!!

adams morgan. bars in gtown card kinda hard though so unless its a really good one…good luck

there used to be (3 years ago) a liquor store on the corner of I and 18th streets that would NEVER card… i looked like i was 12, I am a guy, and had no trouble. Try that place

Georgetown social life is great but not ridiculously intense. Thursday nights lots of kids head to the bars, Friday and Saturday there is always tons of parties on campus. Sunday - Wednesday it’s a lot of clubs, activities, hanging with friends, and doing the tons of homework you get, but I’m sure if you wanted to find people to go out with on a Tuesday or Wednesday, you could. Georgetown kids are definitely social by nature.

Bar scene:

If you want to get a fake ID, you’ll have to find someone who has a contact. That said, there are several Georgetown bars that aren’t too difficult when it comes to carding. It’s sort of hit-or-miss, even if you’re a girl. Most popular bars are Rhino, Third Edition (Thirds), and Champs if you’re underage. Juniors/Seniors go to those bars as well as Tombs, Old Glory, Garret’s, Mr. Smith’s, Saloon, etc. Rhino will sometimes turn you down but never take it from you (whereas others will). Chadwicks is often considered the “freshman bar” but they occasionally crack down if they get in trouble with law enforcement…

parties:

Village A, Village B, and Henle host the “on-campus” parties but these are usually less open than those held by townhouses. Georgetown has tried to enforce a strict alcohol policy in recent years but they have become more lenient recently.

Off-campus townhouses will host larger, outdoor parties in warm weather and almost always have kegs. They’re usually over by 1am or so.

I’d say that the various majority of Georgetown students drink, and nearly everyone goes out on Friday and Saturday. If you don’t have early morning classes on Friday or don’t mind going to your 8:50 with a hangover, Thursday is pretty much a designated bar night. Certain people go out out early in the week, and the happy hours around here are decent as well.

To summarize the social scene:

If you’re looking for the insanity of a UCLA/University of Florida/State school x, prepare to be disappointed.
If you’re smart but enjoy having a social life too, you’ll have a lot more fun here than at Harvard, Cornell, etc.
