Hello all,

I'm a rising senior in high school and a Georgetown hopeful for the Class of 2016. The Walsh School of Foreign Service is my absolute IDEAL college....except it's so damn small! I'm wondering if any current SFS-ers could share their experience with the SFS program versus how they observe the Georgetown College program to be (vibe, size, interaction between the two, why you chose one over the other, if you're happy with your choice, etc.)? Many thanks!

Great choice! The SFS is a truly unique program that is second to none. You’ll quickly learn that the opportunities afforded the SFS students, and really all GU students, are more incredible than you can imagine them to be.

The SFS students are in no way sequestered from the other colleges. As a matter of fact, most classes you’ll take are a mixture of students from every college. There are SFS only courses but those are the minority. As you proceed through the program and take more specialized courses toward your major, you’ll find yourself seeing more familiar faces but as a general rule you’ll meet many different people each semester.

You’ll meet students from every college in your dorm. My roommate is in MSB and you’ll probably room with someone other than an SFS student.

Hope this helps!
