I've heard it's like ridiculous weather at cornell (hail in may etc).
Do you get any sunshine?

Breezy, probably in the 70's this time of year. Wear shorts.

Sunshine, rain, snow, sleet (common new england weather.) Depends on the time of the year. During the spring/summer it can get very warm. During the fall/winter it can get very cold.

Actually, when I visited last April it was really nice out. It wasn't particularly warm, but I got away jeans and a t-shirt.

summer is hot sunny and blue skied; winter is grey, cold, and snowy...welcome to the northeast...

now and then (i'd say maybe once a week, this winter) we get a clear blue sky though. it's cold, but in general, winter really isn't so bad here--there's a lot to do. I hardly have any free time, and I can always find something to do in the free time I DO have.

You have to love visiting in the winter and seeing people wear flip flops+shorts though. lol :D

Cornell weather compared to midwest weather? You guys can't get any colder than we do, right?

Nah, it's not as bad as Minnesota. If you're from MN, you're thick-skinned enough to live comfortably in Ithaca, for sure.

minnesota. it was -13 two days ago. today it's 12. love the cold.

It's all about dressing correctly at the right time.

well said...as long as your dressed right it's not EVER that bad except when it's windy and cold simultaneously, which is pretty uniformly unpleasent.

However, the warmer snowy days with big flakes falling, high 20s temperatures, and no wind are exquisite. the arts quad is so incredibly picturesque when we have those days.

coming from any area with snow you'll be fine

people think that winter is 4 months of cold and missery. It's not. Yes, there will be some days when it's frigid outside with some wind on top of that, but the majority of days are rather pleasant. Some days have been very warm and nice ... I went snowboarding two saturdays ago and it was spectacular and sunny out. On the other hand, this past weekend was very very cold. Winter is kind of an up and down thing that you just put up with. It only lasts from late November until early March. Spring in Ithaca is beautiful!

winter is bipolar lol

As long as I have something to look forward to, I'm okay with it.

idk, i get semi depressed once in a while during our Wisconsin winters
