What's the workload like at AEM?

I keep hearing that AEM is the hardest major at Cornell. Well, I was wondering what the workload would be like. Are there an amazing number of assignments? Are classes on a very difficult curve? Do AEM'ers regularly pull strings of all-nighters together? Is it frequent to only work on the weekend?

What's it like?

AEM is a hard major to get in to, not the hardest academically

My friend in AEM says it's easy as heck. Then again, he's a pretty smart guy, so maybe it's just easy for HIM.

there's no way AEM is the hardest major at Cornell. I've taken many AEM classes and they were among the easiest.

Still, the major is very prestigious and it's great for recruitment

Workload? Curve? Difficult? wat?

Hm... in my four years at Cornell I never heard anyone refer to AEM as a difficult major.
Perhaps there's some confusion among AEM and AEP being the hardest major ;)

(AEP = Applied Engineering and Physics which I found often gets referred to as one of the most challenging majors at Cornell)

At any school, with maybe the exception of Wharton, the business program will almost undoubtedly be one of the easiest majors.

With that said, the first two years in AEM are ridiculously easy, but the junior and senior year classes can be pretty tough.

Wow, I didn't know it's easy! I guess that's good for me then.. :p how would you compare the workload to what you did back in HS?

completely depends on the high school, but I imagine for the first year it wouldn't be too much different

aem is hard to get into...because everyone wants to transfer into it. def not the hardest to be in.

no offense, but anyone thats looking to go to AEM because its "easy" shouldn't apply or be accepted. the admissions committee can walk and chew gum at the same time, they will see that from a mile away. thats an absolutely terrible reason to go to Cornell over another school.
