What's Theory of Knowledge Like?

For the IB kids, of course. I've heard it's basically a philosophy class and there's a lot of discussions.
Feel free to share your experiences.

It’s a very structured discussion class. You learn different ways of knowing (reason, faith, imagination, sense perception, etc) and you learn how to make these things called knowledge questions. Knowledge questions are basically broad questions about knowledge, there aren’t not many other ways to explain it. You use KI’s to connect situations together. An example would be “to what extent can emotion override other ways of knowing” or “how can we know when intuition is true.” Very broad questions about knowledge. You’ll also learn areas of knowledge which are basically subjects, like math, natural science, art, etc. My class was structured by looking at a different subject over a few weeks. So one example is history and we talked about whether it’s possible to know enough facts to get the full picture to make up for not being there ourselves. We also talked about reason and went into fallacies, different theories on reason, the weaknesses of reason (inductive reasoning) and so on. Overall it’s a very interesting class but don’t expect a free-for-all discussion.
