What's this I hear about cliche essay topics?

<p>When did writing about adversity become cliche? I think it's a good way to show how capable you are. I don't think many people have really had to overcome major conditions...so how is this cliche?</p>

<p>It really does depend on how you write it. Writing on adversity won't make you look good or look bad. How you write it will.</p>

<p>But to answer your question, everyone has overcome some adversity. A lot of people I'm guessing exaggerate small things. A lot of people I'm guessing have actually experienced adversity in some form or another. It's all about perspective.</p>
