Whats this mean?!?!?!

on my online thing it says this:

Application Status: Complete ready for review
Decision: Deferred - Manual Review Req

does that mean ive been deferred like when you apply ED or does it just mean that it has to be looked at by a real person, not by a formula? :(

thanks

Mine says the same thing....

Deferred - Manual Review Req Special circumstances are present (e.g., transfer coursework, Business applicants, no high school rank provided).

mine doesnt say that part from "special circumstances" and so on, but I did not provide them with a high school rank.

im guessing they accept and deny anybody in the extreme ends of the applicant pool and then manually review all the people in the middle?

alright i just got the answer in the college admissions section. it just means they are gonna take 2 weeks to review and decide because they just scrape the smarties off the top and accept them, and then look closely at everybody else that is normal like you and i.

in other words: no worries!

Computer can do an automatic admit for those with high test scores and class rank depending on criteria provided to admissions by each college. Others (majority) go to manual review and someone will review your file to determine admission. That includes those with high test scores and GPA whose high schools do not rank as the computer cannot automatically admit without it. Majority of those deferred to manual review are eventually admitted although the decision can come anywhere from a week to sometime in January.

Same note came up for my son. It is very simple because (as indicated below) the computer didn't find the auto 2% for top/bottom so you are in the middle range (96%). Your app will be reviewed w/n a few weeks. Keep checking the site and one day, pray it says:
"Decision- Admit. College review."
That too sounds confusing but actually it means you're in and the papers will be mailed in 8-10 biz days. Good luck!!

awesome, whats it say if you dont get in? "Decision - DENIEEEED"? i guess you wouldn't know.

In that case they should send you a letter before posting the info to your site. If I recall that's how it has been handled in the past.

Are you guys talking about the page on Candidate Information? Because I am confused.. I still dont have a "Decision" on my info?

Ok nevermind.. I realized it was for Urbana.

yeah... my status changed to admit a couple weeks after that

mine is not changing for 3 months now lol
