what's this mean?

I am once again in a position of utter confusion .... in fact, i'm dumbfounded. There are a few people on this board, myself included, who applied before or around the priority date (3 months ago) and have not heard anything yet, while there are people who applied Jan.15 and got in already. I know it sounds like i'm paranoid, which I very well could be, but it's not a bad sign if we haven't heard back yet, right?

My high school adviser told us that so far, about 6,000 students have been admitted. UW is going to target accepting around 11,000, so there is plenty of time for you to be admitted.

UW is very unpredictable as far as accepting goes.. I swear its a case of being read at the right moment or something.

while i sent in around the priority date, i am STILL AWAITING INITIAL REVIEW..
like they havent even touched my application after 4 weeks..

and i have to sent my intent to enroll for other universities at may 1st, so if UW doesnt tell me their decisions in time -__-

yeah i applied around priority date too and still haven't heard their decision not even a waiting list thing.... my friend who applied in Jan. recently got a letter from them that told him he was on their waiting list.. and also my other friends got in already

It's been quite a while, and like everyone else, I'm worried. Hearing what some of the stats people had to get in eased my thoughts a little bit. My scores would be in the lower half of the people on this site, but it is still better then a LOT of people at my school.
3.39 UW, no idea what it is weighted
Honors math all the way through, now in AP Calc, honors science excluding frosh year, took a semester of Physics AP last semester.
1850 on the new SAT/ 28 Composite ACT
umm not too many extracurriculars, not a lot at all, I wrote that I've been taking martial arts for 5 years, like 3 times a week, and president of my volunteer group.
I thought I wrote a pretty darn good essay, had it reviewed like 7 times. Twice by a friend, three times by the people at this college preparation center. I forgot what the prompt was, something about a story of your life and how it helped shape your character or something, so I wrote about how kungfu metaphorically shapes my character by being calm like a crane and making smart decisions and stuff like that, you know, totally making stuff up. But yeah, it wasn't bad. And people who take kungfu are totally diverse, who the hell takes kungfu? Yeah of course they should want me up there =]

Oh yeah I got into my back up school, University of Oregon, and my second back up school, Oregon State University.

Steve that's really not that long of a time.

There's kids who submitted their apps back in November who haven't heard back yet....

A general rule is, you get an accepted about a month after the application is advanced to "full review process". Check your status around the 20th or so - use unofficial transcript.

Now this is a long time!

Thank you for applying for admission to the University of Washington!

I have a 3.6 gpa and a 1980 sat.

do you guys know whether rejection letters are given out just as fast as acceptance letters are or do they wait until April to send those ones out?

I've been under full review process since January 12th, and I'm really starting to think I haven't been accepted...3.69 UW GPA, 1970 on SAT I (second try, 1850 first try)....but I FLUNKED a class T_T...

' A general rule is, you get an accepted about a month after the application is advanced to "full review process". '

I hope you're wrong because:

OMFG YOU GUYS HAVENT GOTTEN IN YET? I BET YOU GUYS GOT REJECTED HAAHHAAH LOSER.

kidding. chill out kids. there's still 5,000 acceptance letters to go!

Its a general rule, meaning most people hear back after a month its in 'full review' status. it's basically the luck of a draw and whether the admission officers read your application or not.

as for rejection letters: some people HAVE gotten rejection letters, but these people are those who were OBVIOUSLY unqualified for UW. i'm talking about gpa hovering around 2.0's.

UW's goal is to get all decisions out by March 31st!! so be patient.

remember, its the first year they are using the 'holistic' approach.

nhs.... i really hope your right.

gee you guys.. my app has been under full review since Dec. 15th! way longer than most of you..

So yeah... waiting sucks, so much antipation, my number one choice, yeah yada yada yada... So anyways, geeez seriously does anyone like to party? I wrote a whole thread and no one replied. What is up with that??? Does everyone love to study? Come onnnnnnnnn =P

yes, anticipation sucks...bad
